Side protection for the frame
Side or frame protectors guard the pallet rack in its lower side area. These C-shaped guards are placed on the outer frames, where impacts are most common. They are usually combined with upright protectors for greater effectiveness.

Frame or upright protector?
The upright protector guards each exposed upright; the frame protector guards the whole frame laterally in its lower area. In busy aisles both are used.
Where is the frame protector placed?
In front of the frames exposed to forklift aisles, anchored to the floor, to absorb impacts before they reach the uprights.
Is it required by any standard?
NOM-006-STPS requires protecting the structure from impacts of handling equipment; protectors are the usual measure.
