- Several pallets of the same SKU per lane
- You want density without driving the forklift into the rack
- Cold rooms where maneuvering time is expensive
- One SKU per pallet → Selective Rack
- Strict FIFO → Pallet Flow Rack
- Dozens of pallets per SKU → Drive-In
Key benefits
- Ideal for cold rooms
Fast maneuvers from the aisle, less time inside the chamber.
- Lower operating cost
The forklift does not enter the rack; less damage and less time per move.
- Aisle savings
More positions per square meter than a selective rack.
- Low maintenance and accessories
Carts on bearings and compatibility with protectors.
Density with front loading
The push back system is made up of a set of carts that work by gravity. The carts move toward the back as you place pallets from the front of the system, with no need to drive into a tunnel or reach the rear.
How it works
Each lane has telescopic carts resting on rails with a slight slope. The first pallet is placed on the top cart; when the second is placed, it pushes the first one back, and so on until the lane is full. As pallets are removed, the rest return to the front by gravity.
How it is configured
- Frames from 72″ to 396″ and lanes 2 to 5 pallets deep.
- Rails and carts sized for the weight and size of your pallet.
- Upright protectors and signage to NOM-006-STPS and NOM-026-STPS.

Frequently asked questions
How is a push back rack unloaded?
When the front pallet is removed, gravity moves the following ones forward to the aisle on their carts. The last one in is the first one out.
Does it work in cold rooms?
Yes. It is one of the most used systems in refrigerated chambers because it reduces maneuvering time; it is built with a finish for low temperatures.
How many pallets deep does a push back hold?
Usually 2 to 5 pallets deep per lane depending on the design; all of them are loaded and unloaded from the front aisle.
